In the past, I have successfully substituted Sunbutter (natural unsweetened) sunflower seed butter and home-made pistachio butter for tahini in hummus recipes, both with good results. I have yet to try either in this Dill Pickle Hummus recipe though, so no guarantees you'll like them any more than tahini. If you want to stick with a seed rather than a nut, you could try whipping up a pepita (pumpkin/squash seed) butter. (Now that I think about it, I might want to try this sometime soon too! ;) )

Tahini is a key ingredient in hummus, and you really can't taste it in the final product, especially since this one has such a strong flavor. If that still hasn't convinced you though, I'd try an unsweetened nut or seed butter. Not peanut butter, but maybe sunflower butter or almond butter?
