Your best bet is to ensure you are reading the ingredients. Knorr might be clean of animal products as well, but honestly, I can't remember which brand we used.

Thank you guys so much for sharing this recipe and your emulsion secrets!! I made this with only 1/4C oil and 1 tbsp water. Had to really work the plunging guy in the vitamix for a few minutes but it worked! I had tried a tofu cream cheese before that had a ton of nutritional yeast and didn't specify to blend to be shiny... and it was disgusting in taste and texture.

I'd suggest seeing how it sets without, then you can add the onion/garlic if you feel it needs it. Hope this helps!

Would this work (set up?) without the dry veggie soup mix Am thinking of using this for recipes I have that call for cream cheese that I want to make vegan and am concerned that the soup mix might be needed to absorb extra moisture in order to set up properly.
